Tight Finnish

The latest releases by the Fiasko label indicate that Finnish jazz is thriving with ingenuity. Glamour & Decadence perfectly describes the sardonic hybrid achieved by Gourmet, boasting accordion, heavy rock guitar and slide trombone within their line-up. Gnomus are a trio whose eponymous debut combine ambient/improvised/prog/electro gestures into fantastical soundscapes, while Nuijamiehet play intriguingly buoyant modern Euro jazz.
